Blog Every Day in May: Dream Job

'If you could do anything in the world to make a living what would it be?'

If I could do anything in the world I would work in medical research. I can not by any means specify this any further as I haven't even started university yet and I am not going to try and act like I know how many possibilities and different fields of research there are as I simply don't. however, to learn all about the fields and I am going to start studying biomedical sciences in september and will hopefully find out exactly what I want to do once I finish my studies. which won't be for a while anyway but it would be nice to know I guess.

I have known that that's what I want to do for quite a while now as I've been interested in the human system and how illnesses can affect it for as long as I can remember and ever since we did things like that in biology lessons I knew I wanted to do something related to it. I thought about doing medicine but I think I always knew that I was not mentally ready for something like being a doctor and also more interested in the research and lab side of things so that's what I'm going to do hopefully. and I can't wait to start university and get closer to my dream job.

saying that my actual dream would probably be to stay in uni forever and learn new things all the time because when I find something that interests me I actually really enjoy studying. but you learn new things when you work as well and maybe after many years of uni I'll be quite happy to finally have a job.

another little dream of mine is to maybe one day have my own little pub or cafe where I'll serve delicious food and play lovely music and show football every weekend. but who knows maybe I'll do that at some point in my life. you never know do you. I'm just really looking forward to getting closer to my dream job and I can not wait to start university (if I haven't mentioned that before).

You will love university! We are very similar in that I would love to just keep on studying forever as well! Unfortunately, life isn't cheap and after 4 and a half years I will be out of university and earning my keep! I do like to think that even when I am done this first leg of study I will be able to go back part-time and keep expanding my knowledge. I always have been torn between medicine and history and literature. In the end literature won out and I'm studying it full-time at the moment! I love it but I do miss all the science-y stuff sometimes! xx

glad I'm not the only one, it's just so lovely to learn about things you are passionate about. I'm sure literature is very interesting though. and yeah I think I might see if I can do something part-time aswell after I've finished this, but first I have to start uni I guess. really wish I could study forever :) xx
